This accession includes manuscripts of a book and articles, laboratory notebooks, and correspondence. Also includes three reel to reel tape recordings made by Norris Rakestraw. One is labeled, "Historical Intro." and gives a brief description of the history of marine chemistry as a discipline in the United States. Another recording narrates what appears to be a formal paper on chemical oceanography. The third tape is Rakestraw's memories of papers delivered at a Gordon Conference on Marine Chemistry.
